Inside the Newcastle restaurant that keeps things close to home

The FT's Daniel Garrahan and food writer Tim Hayward travel to Newcastle in north-east England to visit Anna Hedworth, chef-proprietor of Cook House. Cook House opened its doors in late 2018 and was Tim's restaurant of the year in 2019 but has since had to navigate the pandemic and soaring inflation. Hedworth is fiercely committed to the area and has found innovative ways to help sustain her restaurant business during the cost-of-living crisis.
