FT Rethink

Is it possible to sustainably satisfy the world's hunger for fish?

Today, some 35 per cent of the world’s fish stocks are classified as overfished. That’s thanks largely to a combination of government subsidies, as well as illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing. A variety of strategies exist to combat these problems, but as the FT’s Susannah Savage explains, coming to any sort of agreement on how best to fight overfishing is far from easy.

FT Rethink series focuses on the people, technology, strategies and systems moving us from an economy that is wasteful, idle, lopsided and dirty towards one that is circular, lean, inclusive and clean. The channel alternates between independent reporting from FT journalists and business perspectives from Lombard Odier
